Luana Reid Buhler

June 29, 1933 — March 1, 2019

Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away March 1, 2019.

Luana was born June 29, 1933 in Basin, Cassia County, Idaho to Naomi and Arnol Reid. Throughout her life, family was her most precious joy. She loved them with all her heart and each of them loved her in return. She enjoyed camping, gardening, riding her motorcycle, reading books from her library, writing poems and stories, playing the piano, music, singing and performing in plays at the Promised Valley Playhouse and musical readings that offered 25 original programs and four book reviews.

She was introduced to the love of her life, Thurman Larry Buhler, by her best friend, his sister, Cherie. They were married on November 7, 1953 and later Solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She cherished every moment they shared, until his unexpected passing on May 17, 1977. The short time they shared together was filled with happiness, laughter, adventures and everlasting love. They were the most loving couple and parents that anyone could hope for. It is a comfort knowing that she is being held tightly in his arms and is no longer lonely.

Luana is survived by her loving sons Larry Buhler and Gary (Arlene); and daughter Sharida (Doug) McIff. Half brothers David (Leslie) Reed, Mike (Julie) Reid, Alan Reid and Florian Reid. Sister-in-laws Cherie Eversole and Brigitte Buhler; many nieces and nephews; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Thurman Larry Buhler; son, Victor Buhler; daughter Tanya Pease; father Arnol Reid; mother Naomi Reed; step father Wallace K. Reed; and great-granddaughter Emmie Rose Buhler.

We would like to thank Summit Senior Living and Summit Hospice for the loving friendship and care they gave to Luana during her time there.
