Lucy Margaret van Uitert Peart passed away in the early morning on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. She was the youngest daughter born to Gerrit (John) and Norma Ruth (Kirchoff) van Uitert on January 23, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She grew up in South Salt Lake graduating from South High School in 1963.
She married her husband, George Peart in the Salt Lake Temple on April 10, 1969. As a newlywed, she waited for her husband to return from his time in the Army during Vietnam.
Lucy enjoyed activities such as crochet and ceramic painting. She also enjoyed reading and watching all types of movies (including terrible sci-fi and scary films) with her daughter. After retirement, she blew away the statistics for her LDS Stake for indexing over 10,000 names for genealogy records in her first month.
She is survived by her daughter (Stacie), brothers (Raymond & Paul) and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sister (LaRayne), brother-in-law (Boyce), and nephew (Michael).
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service held on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Bennion 14th Ward Building located at 6550 South 2700 West, West Jordan, Utah.
Viewings will be on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah and before the funeral services on Friday, January 19, 2024, from 10-10:45 a.m. at 6550 South 2700 West, West Jordan, Utah.
Luncheon to follow the graveside services at the Bennion 14th Ward Building at 6550 South 2700 West, West Jordan, Utah.
