Lynda Golightly

Lynda Marie Cleverly Golightly was called home to be in the presence of the Lord on July 8, 2024, due to complications from a battle with cancer.

Lynda was born June 19, 1951, to Robert B Cleverly and Ruth D (Hargis) Cleverly and spent her entire life in Utah. On November 29, 1968, she married the love of her life and boy next door - Leonard R Golightly. Lynda enjoyed music, singing, gardening, and road trips. She was a history buff and enjoyed exploring museums. Above all, she devoted herself to caring for her beloved family.

Lynda had a deep faith in our Lord and Savior. She attended K2 The Church and was baptized on May 20, 2023, alongside her daughter Patty.

She is survived by her loving husband, Leonard and her 7 children - Janet, Robert (Megan) Golightly, Carrie Lovell, Nicole (TJ) Turner, Patty (Weston) McLachlan, Tina (Wesley) Golightly-Whorton and Cynthia Golightly, as well as 18 cherished grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Ruth Cleverly, brothers Robert (Bob), Kenneth (Ken) and grandson, Michael "Monkey" Lovell.

The legacy she leaves behind will always ensure that her love and kindness will live on for many generations.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to medical staff at St. Mark's Hospital. The kindness, compassion and respect they gave to Lynda was not overlooked and so appreciated.

Viewing will be at McDougal Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 16th at 10:00am (4330 S Redwood Road, Taylorsville) with gravesite services to follow at Valley View Cemetery at 11:30 am (4400 W 4100 S, West Valley City).
