Our sweet mother, Mable R Breeze died peacefully at her home on March 2, 2016 at the age of 98. She was born in Hunter, Utah to William Benjamin Rolfe and Mary Ellen Anderson. She met Eldon Verne Breeze while swimming in the old Haynes Lake in Hunter. They were married June 16, 1936 and later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They had been married 78 years before Verne passed away on November 25, 2014. They were blessed with three children, Karen, Sheila and Michael. Mom was known as the "Hat Lady" throughout West Valley City. She never left her home without being "gussied" up and which always included a matching hat! Mable was a talented decorator and her home was always inviting and beautiful. She could do anything with her hands. Over the years she has tied flies, crafted beautiful beaded flowers and has made many dancing costumes and fabulous outfits. She always enjoyed and appreciated good oil paintings. In her later life she became a gifted artist herself. She loved gardening and won awards for her beautiful Irises. She was a shopper extraordinaire and loved a bargain! Mom and Dad enjoyed traveling and visited their daughter in Europe and South America. They loved camping, fishing and boating and traveled to several National Parks. Mom loved teaching primary and served in several auxiliaries of the church. During the many years that Verne served as Stake President, she had the opportunity to prepare meals and hosted many General Authorities in her home. For over twenty years Mom and Dad enjoyed belonging to a scripture study group with many of their friends. Mable is survived by her daughters, Karen Bateman, and Sheila (Jim) Ransdell; son, Michael (Kathy) Breeze; 14 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, LaPreal Anderson, Guila Evans and Florence Petersen; brother, Ben; son-in-law, Neldon Bateman; and grandson, Jared Spencer Bateman. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 9th,1:00 p.m. at the Salt Lake Hunter Stake Center, 3737 South 5600 West in West Valley City. Viewings will be Tuesday, March 8th, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road in Taylorsville, and Wednesday, 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to services at the church.
