Mable Faye Olsen Sanderson, age 86 passed away peacefully on July 3, 2020 at home surrounded by her sons, daughter, and numerous grandchildren.
Mable was born February 15, 1934, in Salina, Utah to John and Faye Olsen. She married the love of her life Don Sanderson on June 22, 1950. Together they raised four children in Hunter, Utah, celebrating 67 years together prior to Don’s passing on June 27, 2017.
Mable retired from Granite School District School after 20 plus years of serving lunch to a whole lot of “Henry & Henrietta’s”.
Mom’s greatest passion was her family; she never missed a ballgame, concert, or dance recital while raising her children. And when the grandkids came along, she had even more events to go and enjoy. She loved to play cards and other games with the grandkids, great-grandkids, and anyone else that would join in. She loved to go shopping, camping, and just being on the go all the time, keeping her kids on the run all summer. She enjoyed watching the Utah Jazz and usually never missed a Utes Game on TV. Her favorite shows where Gunsmoke, Andy Griffith, and anything with John Wayne. She loved visiting with anyone who stopped by to see her.
She is survived by her sons; Neil & Kathi, Robert & Laurie, Douglas & Susie and daughter Carol & Don Dabb; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, and sister Susan Westenskow.
Preceded in death by her husband Don; parents; brother Nate; and grandson Tyler J. Sanderson.
Private family services for immediate family will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah. Other family and friends can attend via livestream at https://vimeo.com/event/
The family would like to say thank you to her Doctors Roy Gandolfi and Justin Call for taking great care of mom. We would also like to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice for their care and understanding. Thank you to all her grandchildren for the love, support, and laughter they brought.
And a very special thank you to Kasey, Josh, and Danielle who spent tireless days and nights by her side.
