Maida B. Simms passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020 peacefully of natural causes.
Maida was born to Earl & Virginia Barnson in Richfield, Utah. She grew up in Piute County and then moved to Ely, Nevada, where through hard work and perseverance, she raised 7 children. She relocated to Bountiful, Utah after her children were raised and made this her everlasting home. Throughout her life she enjoyed serving God within her community and within her church.
She retired from Budget Car Rental but was not content for long. She volunteered with the Foster Grandparent Program where she tutored elementary school children in reading. She valued her family and grandchildren above all else. Even in the ending chapters of her life, she was caring for others with every resource she had.
Maida was welcomed in Heaven by her parents, Earl & Virginia Barnson; her brothers Rodney, Steve, & Randy Barnson; and her sister Eldora Johnson.
She is celebrated in life by her sister Julie West; and her children Jerry Worthen (Sandy), Holly Fuller (Edward), Paul Worthen (Dawn), Janice Jadin (Curtis), Cory Worthen (Deann), Monica Verner (Rob Brown), Jenniffer Adair (William); and many wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
