Margaret Riley

Margaret (Margie) Riley passed away September 11 2024, peacefully in the presence of her family. Born March 14, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY to Richard and Elizabeth Glasheen. She married Thomas Riley and raised his boys Tommy and Bobby as her own. The marriage produced 2 more sons, Danny and Keith.

Margie worked a variety of jobs throughout her life, most notably as a telephone operator and an office manager. In later years she volunteered at Pioneer Valley Hospital. Margie had a love for life and enjoyed dancing, going to plays, bowling and spending time with friends and family.

The only thing she liked better than cats were her many friends and her family. She lit up when she was with the family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her son Danny (Jamie), grandchildren Tom (Mindy), Kate, Terra, Brooke (Andrew) and Cheyanne (Tanner). Great grandchildren Tommie, Jaiden, Jameson, Carson and Stevie. And many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Preceded in death by parents Richard and Elizabeth, sisters Rosemary, Betty and Eileen, brother Richie and sons Tommy, Bobby and Keith as well as ex husband Tom. Mom's many friends were important to her and have been a great support for her family.

A member of the Catholic Church, mom's "happy place" was every Sunday at the 11 o'clock mass at St. Martin de Porres church.

Special thanks to the medical team at IMC that cared for her, the wonderful hospice folks at Hospice for Utah as well as the staff at Meadow Peak Rehabilitation who took care of mom at the end.

While mom will be greatly missed, her memory will live on in the many stories we will share and while we will cry for now, soon the laughs will return as we think about the many great times we had and how she left a forever imprint on all of our lives. The family will have a small Celebration of Life in the near future to remember mom.
