Marge Distad

“The Velvet Tank” was welcomed home with open arms by her Heavenly Father on November 17, 2019.

She was born in Forrest Grove, Montana on April 19, 1932 to Jim Link and Faye McBride. At the young age of 16, Kiddo found the love of her life, Richard Distad. They married in Roy, Montana in 1950 shortly after Marge had graduated.

Along with starting their own family, they changed the lives of over 40 foster children. Kiddo spent most of her adult years as a homemaker. She was able to spend time doing the things she loved most. Her hobbies and greatest joys included reading, sewing, baking/cooking, gardening, spending time with her family and the sweet taste of Coca-cola.

She is survived by her children Sharon Evans (Jesus), Steve Distad (Zamira), Donna Ward (Mike). Her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren were incredibly blessed to have been able to call her Grandma.

She is preceded in death by her amazing husband; her children Ronnie Distad and Patsy Distad; her parents; siblings; and her grandson.

We will miss her witty sense of humor, calm nature, stubborn personality and definitely her Cowboy cookies!

She was very loved and will be missed by many. Her family finds peace in knowing that she is home, happy and healthy.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2019, 6:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 6755 West 3800 South West Valley City, 84128.
