Margie Lane passed away September 30, 2019 in her home, surrounded by her family. Margie was born November 17, 1941 in Salt Lake City to Robert and June Crouch. She was the second of seven children.

After graduating from Granite High School, Margie was a telephone operator for the phone company “Ma Bell”. In her more than 25 years of service in various positions, she enjoyed her work and the friends she made there. While working, she also earned an Associate’s degree.

Margie married Melvin “Pinky” Lane in August of 1961; the marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple 15 years later. Together they had 3 children: Colleen, Robert, and Brenda.

Margie was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a great caregiver and enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. She loved spending her time taking care of her grandchildren - her family meant everything to her.

Margie was a gifted artist and continually expressed her talents in painting, crafting, and sewing. She loved creating personalized gifts for her loved ones and spent countless hours crafting each doll, ornament, quilt, painting, or other item with great care and love. She also shared her talents by teaching classes, often in her home.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Scot. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Pinky Lane; three children, Colleen (Doug) Harris, Robert Lane, and Brenda (Carlos) da Silva; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings: Judith, Kathleen, Pamela, Corey, and Wayne; and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 3rd from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Taylorsville 13th Ward House, located at 1495 Tamarack Rd.in Taylorsville, Utah. Funeral services will be Friday, October 4th at noon, with a viewing at 11:00 a.m., also at the Taylorsville 13th Ward located at 1495 Tamarack Rd in Taylorsville, Utah. Interment will take place at Valley View Cemetery in West Valley City.
