Marie Violet Cook 1920 ~ 2014 Our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister, Marie Violet Cook, 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family Monday October 13, 2014, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Marie was born March 5, 1920, in Chadron, Nebraska, to Frank and Nora Dexter. She worked hard for her family and walked to the places she needed to go, since she never had a driver's license in all her years. Her children fondly remember that she would sing How Much Is That Doggy In The Window? while she baked, canned and cooked. She also loved to crochet, knit, go for long car rides, fishing and playing a game of marbles anytime she could. She loved all her children and grandchildren, and especially loved to chase around with the little ones, even at the age of 94. Marie is survived by her brother, Harold Dexter; 8 children, Edith Wilemon, Martha (Pat) Kassahn, David (Suell) Trowbridge, Donna (Dan) Werkele, Shirley Trowbridge, Calvin (Laraine) Trowbridge, Allen Trowbridge, and Larry Trowbridge; 49 grandchildren; 82 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; and grandsons, Michael Kassahn and James Allen Trowbridge. The family would like to thank the very kind nurses and staff of Gentiva Hospice and Paramount Health and Rehabilitation for taking such great care of our mom and grandma. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 20, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road with a viewing, 9:00 9:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
