Marilyn Avryl Corey Woodcox

June 30, 1935 — December 3, 2015

Marilyn Avryl Corey Woodcox passed away December 3, 2015 after a four-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born June 30, 1935 in Ogden, Utah to Frank W. Corey and Avryl V. Gibbons. Marilyn grew up in Salt Lake City, where her father worked as a railroad engineer, and Marilyn developed a love of trains. She graduated from East high School in 1953. She attended the University of Utah, where she met the love of her life, Harry Paul Woodcox. They were married September 2, 1955. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 9, 1988. They are the parents of 5 children. They lived in several cities in Wyoming until 1989, when they moved to Sandy, Utah. Marilyn was a full-time homemaker and later worked at the LDS Institute at the University of Wyoming. She has served in various callings in the LDS Church, including Relief Society President and Nursery Leader. She enjoyed attending the temple and family events. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Paul Corey, her husband, and great-grandson Peter. She is survived by her 5 children: Susan Hill (Jim), David (Becky), Terry (Debbie), Scott (LaDena), Bryan (Kathy); 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Alta View Stake Center, 1850 East 8600 South. A viewing will precede the service from 9:30-10:45 am. Interment will follow the service in the American Fork Cemetery. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Sunrise of Sandy for their tender and diligent care, during the past year.
