Marilyn Frame Morris

July 22, 1930 — May 12, 2014

After 83 beautiful years, the music drew to an end peacefully for Marilyn Frame Morris after a wonderful Mother's Day on May 12, 2014. She was born at the family home in Taylorsville, Utah on July 22, 1930 to Jennie Williams and Archibald Ivan Frame. She grew up there with a large and loving extended family filled with music, gardening and hard work, things she passed on to her children and many others throughout her life. She graduated from Granite High School in 1949 and Brigham Young University with a degree in Elementary Education and Music. She married Douglas E. Morris in the Salt Lake Temple on August 17, 1953. Marilyn and Doug raised their four children in Midvale Utah. She had a love of music and a gift for teaching and performing both piano and organ. She was church organist for well over 60 years. She studied music at the McCune School of Music, Brigham Young University as well as Temple Square with Frank Asper. She taught piano and organ in her living, and her cherished music rooms, for more than half a century. To this very day her students would visit her to thank her and share their musical experiences. Her love of art spilled over the symphony, ballet, and theater, which she attended regularly with her Aunt Mildred and her daughters. She was an active member of the LDS church throughout her life. Marilyn was a devoted wife and supported Doug, the love of her life, in every way possible in his educational, church and business activities. She loved her cats from childhood in Taylorsville until the time of her death. She is survived by husband, Doug; children: Stephen (Marie), David (Wendy), Ann (Kelly) and son-in-law, Marcus; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; Preceded in death by her parents; brother, Glen; and daughter, Karen.
