Marilyn Orvilla Crosby George 1939 - 2014 Marilyn George, age 74 passed away in her home on March 27, 2014 after a long illness. Marilyn was born October 17, 1939 in Provo, Utah, daughter of Samuel Obed and Luzon Orvilla Stevens Crosby. She grew up in Orem, Utah and later moved to Kearns and then to West Valley City, Utah. She graduated from Orem High School and attended BYU for 2 years majoring in education and commercial art. At BYU she met the "Love of her Life" John Karl George. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 3, 1959. They were married 53 years. They had three children, Mark, Jenifer and Laura. She was very talented. She made beautiful wedding cakes. She enjoyed painting wildlife, mountain scenery seascapes and flowers. She loved doing crafts and making jewelry. She blessed the lives of others with many gifts of artwork and jewelry. She spent many hours doing volunteer work. She worked in the PTA and scouting for many years. She loved animals and was a docent for Hogle Zoo. She worked as a teacher in elementary school and tutored disabled children and adults. She loved being a member of the LDS church. She served in many positions in Relief Society, Primary and the Young Women's organization. She and her husband served 3 church service missions, including the MTC in Provo and the Joseph Smith Memorial building. She loved to travel with her husband to different places like Alaska, Hawaii and Mexico. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. She was always supportive in their accomplishments - going to band and orchestra concerts and to dance recitals. She was very proud of all her children serving missions and pursuing educations. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren playing games. She was also very proud of the accomplishments of her brothers Samuel's children. Most of all along with loving her family she loved her friends and ward members whom she gave many hours of service. The family wishes to thank all those who have given service to John and Marilyn thru the years and at this difficult time. She will be greatly missed.
