Marilyn Nelson Walker, 73, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 11, 2015 surrounded by her family following complications related to heart failure. She was born on October 1, 1941 in Afton, Wyoming to Edith and Loren Nelson. Marilyn married K. Brent Walker in the Idaho Falls, Idaho temple on October 14, 1960. She loved all of her family. Marilyn was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings throughout her life. She fulfilled several church service missions. For over 10 years, she served as a substitute phone operator in the Jordan River LDS Temple, often taking several shifts each week. Marilyn is survived by her 4 children and their spouses, Cristy (Russ) Mecham, Cheryl (Keith) Longhurst, Diane (Mike) Kenison, and Greg (Mary Anne) Walker; 14 grand children; and several great grand children. She is also survived by 3 siblings, Denice (Peyton) Dennis, Dean (Carma) Nelson, and Ken (Karen) Nelson. Her husband; parents; and sister, Gwen, preceded her in death. Funeral Services will be held, Friday, August 14, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at the LDS Church on 4251 South 4800 West. Viewings will be held Thursday, August 13, 2015, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Friday at the church prior to services from 9:00-9:45 a.m. Interment; Fielding Memorial Cemetery, Idaho Falls, Idaho.
