Marion Olsen Hudson passed away suddenly in her home in Stansbury Park, Utah on the morning of September 8, 2021. She was born on March 18, 1949, in Twin Falls, Idaho to Daris Reese Olsen and Mildred Louise Ames Dodd. She was one of eleven children, and she often recalled the adventures her parents had of raising her along with her siblings in a tiny home in Murtaugh, Idaho.
Marion is a graduate of Murtaugh High School in Murtaugh, Idaho, class of ’67. She spent many years working as a waitress and connecting with others as only she could. To everyone, she was their friend, and she was good at her job. Whether she worked in customer service, or behind the counter at the local drive in. Marion loved everyone and you instantly felt special in her presence.
Marion married the love of her life, Myron Ross Hudson on February 3, 1972, and became an instant mother to his two boys. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had four children. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she held many callings in Relief Society, Young Women’s and Primary. Her favorite calling was they Librarian as it gave her an opportunity to connect with everyone.
Marion was a very social person and made friends everywhere she went, including the lines at the grocery store. Her children were her greatest accomplishment and she loved them tremendously. She would do anything for them and often did. Sacrificing her wants and her needs to see that her children had what they needed. Marion was also an avid reader, and you would often find her with a book in her hands. She loved spending time with her sister Peggy whom she was extremely close with. They were the best of friends. She loved to cook and enjoyed trying out new recipes for her family. If you knew Marion, she was always a friend and always had a smile on her face.
Marion is survived by her husband Myron Ross Hudson (to whom she was married to for 49 years); children Michael “Shayne” Hudson (Michelle), “Kevin” Wayne Hudson (Alayna), William “Bill” Boyd Hudson (Amy), “Paul” Albert Hudson (Shelby), DeEtte Eves (Brian), and Brooke Hudson. She is the grandmother to 25 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was deeply loved by her family and will be terribly missed by both her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father; mother; brothers Darryl Reese Olsen, Earl Olsen, Frank Olsen, Jerry Olsen; and a sister Jane Toupin.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021, 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Stansbury Village Ward building located at Village Blvd and Brienne Way in Stansbury Park, Utah. The family invites all that knew Marion to come and visit with one another and celebrate her life.
