MarJean Brown Parker, daughter of Ray Bamford Brown and Marjorie Vernon, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and disciple of Jesus Christ. She is survived by her loving husband, James Henry Parker, cherished children: Steve (Lana) Parker, Karen (Nathan) Judd, Christina (Mike) Harding, Janet (Adam) Cherrington, Mike (Melissa) Parker, and Sarah (Jason) Ruzicka, as well as 22 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and her sisters Dorothy Ovard and Irene Weber.
Preceding her in death were her beloved parents, sister Brenda Johnson, and brothers Don and Jeffrey Brown.
MarJean was born and raised in the beautiful mountain valley around Coalville, UT. She was involved in everything and graduated from North Summit High School. She pursued higher education at Weber State University, earning a degree in Elementary Education.
MarJean and Jim were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on June 21, 1968. After graduation, they began the first of many adventures, moving first to Florida, then Illinois, and ultimately settling in Fremont, CA to raise their children. After 23 years there among treasured friends, they moved to Saratoga Springs, Utah, to be closer to their children and families, where they built cherished relationships in their community over the next 23 years.
MarJean's life was filled with various activities and callings. She served with unwavering love in Relief Society, Primary, and Young Women's programs, including Girls Camp, where she made lifelong friendships. She also served as a Temple worker and missionary with Jim at Heber Valley Camp, sharing her joy for life and her love for her family.
Known for her unwavering service and love for her family, MarJean always waited up late for her children, hid encouraging notes in their lunches, and cherished family traditions, especially during Christmas. She delighted in hosting annual Gingerbread House workshops and spending quality time with her loved ones.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff at Utah Valley Hospital, Point Meadows Rehabilitation Center, and Bellaview Assisted Living and Memory Care.
A viewing will be held at the Saratoga Springs Springside Stake Center, 587 S. Saratoga Rd., Saratoga Springs, UT 84045, on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 6-8 pm, and Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 10-10:45 am, followed by a funeral at 11 am. https://zoom.us/j/96320926681
