Mark Burrie

October 22, 1981 — March 5, 2024

Mark Alan Burrie, 42, returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in West Jordan, Utah due to complications with an ongoing battle with cancer. Born as an only child in Corona, California to parents Jon and Debbie Burrie. Mark proved he was a fighter at a very young age. His parents instilled in him that he could do anything and to never give up.

To those that knew and loved him, he was a real-life superhero. His constant optimistic outlook on life was a real inspiration to many. He had a way of making you smile, making you feel like you had a friend in your corner. Someone who no matter how horrible they were feeling, was always quick to ask how someone was and how he could help that person. He was a fighter right till the very end.

Mark always let his faith in our Lord guide his way. His strong testimony moved him to serve a mission to Georgia and Nebraska. He loved serving in any capacity and enjoyed all the callings he was extended such as ward executive secretary and ward mission leader. Whatever he was tasked to do, he did it 110%.

It was his faith that he ended up meeting the love of his life, Audrey Wellard. After three years of dating, she finally said yes, and they were married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple on August 17, 2012. During their years together, they welcomed two children: a son Jonathan, and a daughter Madison. His kids captured his heart and were his pride and joy.

Mark enjoyed learning and working with the latest technology in communication and enjoyed his many years working as assistant managers with companies like Radio Shack, Sprint, and T-Mobile. It was this excitement that made him go back to college and earn his associate degree in business.

At home, Mark was the ultimate sidekick to his wife and kids, whether it was constructing Lego masterpieces, embarking on crazy video game adventures, or just enjoying the ultimate snuggles with his kids while watching movies (mainly Marvel), or reading storybooks.

Friends and family can join in celebrating the amazing soul that Mark was by attending a viewing on Monday, March 11, 2024, from 6-8 pm at McDougal Funeral Home (4330 S Redwood Rd Taylorsville, Utah) or by attending his funeral services at the Rushton View 7th Ward building (3760 Rushton View Drive, South Jordan, Utah) Tuesday, March 12th at 12 noon with a viewing from 10:30-11:45 a.m. Mark's final resting place will be at the South Jordan City Cemetery.

Mark's legacy is like a timeless comic book-filled with tales of love, laughter, and the kind of heroism that doesn't always wear a cape. Mark, your story lives on in the hearts of your family and friends. We "love you 3000."
