Marlene Kay Beck Roberts

Marlene Kay Beck Roberts (71) of Riverton, Utah passed away peacefully on December 20, 2019. Marlene was born in Nampa, Idaho on June 1, 1948 to Vance Junior Beck and Mildred (Andra) Beck. She was the middle of three children and the only daughter.

She had a wonderful childhood and always remembered the many outings with her family to the lake. She attended BYU where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics. She met her husband in Indianapolis, IN while working as a Dietician at Methodist Hospital, and he was doing his MOS training for the US Army Reserves. She was sealed for Time and All Eternity in the Salt Lake Temple to her sweetheart and best friend, Jeffry Louis Roberts, on April 14, 1972. They raised 6 kids and 17 grandkids together and they are her greatest joy. She enjoyed spending time with them on numerous vacations and Sunday dinners. As a family, she believed in the family motto, “The Family That Plays Together Stays Together”. She always supported her family, even if some of those trips included countless hours of driving and taking care of kids. She was selfless and dedicated her life to taking care of her family and friends.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she enjoyed serving in the Jordan River Temple and on Temple Square. She loved the arts and enjoyed going to every concert or play she could attend. She kept a great attitude on life through her many struggles with mental and physical health problems. We love her so much and will miss her greatly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister-in-law (Sheila). She is survived by her husband, Jeff; and children Mark (Julieann), Jeremy (Jeni), Tenille Hyun (Don), Tony (Jenny), Randy (Jaime) and Rochelle Bringhurst (James); and her 17 grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Gary Beck and Ken Beck (Maxine).

We will celebrate her life with a viewing at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S Redwood Road, Taylorsville, UT from 6:00-8:00pm on Sunday December 22, 2019. Memorial Services will be at 11:00am on Monday, December 23, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ at 12110 South 1300 West, Riverton, UT with a viewing from 10:00-10:45am prior to the memorial service. Interment will follow at the Riverton Cemetery.
