Mary Ann Pierce

Mary Ann Pierce passed away July 1, 2017 at the University of Utah Medical Center at the age of 55, due to liver and medical complications. She was born on April 11,1962 to Don and Marie Mitchell in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She will be missed by her family and those who loved her. She graduated from Granger High School in 1980 and soon after attended Utah State University to complete her undergraduate studies; and later transferred to Heritage Beauty School where she studied cosmetology. She worked for several salons throughout her career, and then continued working as a beautician in her home. Mary Ann loved to be active, at a young age her and her siblings were always out exploring and getting into trouble. She was a part of the gymnastics team at Granger High School and was always pushing herself to her limits. As she grew, she fell in love with the arts, learned how to play piano and guitar, along with drawing and other crafts. She eventually had a family of her own and they became her whole world; arranging family campouts and keeping her extended family close was incredibly important to her. In her leisure time, she loved to garden and added personal touches to her home; making it unique. She was a shining light of joy and love, bringing smiles to all around her. No matter the situation her attitude was always upbeat and determined; she was never willing to give up even when life was working its hardest to bring her down. Mary Ann was an active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many positions involving Relief Society, Primary, Young Women's, and Cub Scouts. She loved to give back to the community and help her neighbors using the resources the church provided. Mary Ann is survived by her husband Ron Pierce and children; Ryan, Kenzie, and Tyler Pierce. She is also survived by her mother, Helen Marie Mitchell, and her siblings; Christine (Todd) Nunley, Michael (Melody) Mitchell, James Mitchell, Becky (David) Pratt, Daniel (Hilary) Mitchell, and her nieces and nephews. Mary Ann is preceded in death by her father, Donald George Mitchell.
