Diane Haslam

Diane passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020 at the age of 85. Born on March 22, 1935, to Matthew Ridd and Elva Moser Haslam. (Both deceased)

 As a small child, Diane loved helping her father on the farm with his prize-winning chickens.  She worked and retired from Sears Roebuck & Co. for 45 Years, serving in many positions. Diane was an avid member of the Utah China Painting Club and loved china painting, pouring, and firing all of her ceramics.  She taught her painting skills to many people throughout the years and gave them for birthday and Christmas gifts along the way. She entered her china in many fairs and won various ribbons and awards.

 Diane loved to travel back East to Massachusetts with the love of her life and partner Rowley every year.  Diane took many road trips at the spur of the moment with her mother Elva. One of their favorite places to travel was Southern Utah where they would pirate rocks for their gardens along the way. Diane and Elva would get in the car without any plans and start driving. Sometimes they would get so tired they would stop and get a room for the night laughing and giggling all the way. Diane also had a love for gardening and had prize-winning flowers. Her favorite flower and color are red roses.

Diane was a proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved receiving her yearly Christmas letters from President Thomas S. Monson.

Diane was a sister aunt and friend. She loved her many nieces & nephews. 

Preceded in death are her parents Matthew and Elva Haslam, brothers Renn Haslam, Franklin “Lin” Haslam, Niece Jodie Haslam. 

Survived by: Peggy (Lin) Haslam, Jack (Sharon) Haslam, Jimmy (Shelly) Haslam, Robin (Jackie) Haslam, Linda Haslam  & (Scott Thatcher).

In lieu of a funeral per Diane’s wishes, we will be having a Graveside Service Thursday, August 13, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. Pleasant Green Cemetery  ~ 9000 W 3500 S Magna, Utah.  Please feel free in joining us after for a celebration of Life at the Red Lobster in Sugarhouse.
