Mary Lynne Clayton Hansen 1927 ~ 2013 Mary Lynne Clayton Hansen, the habitual proofreader, never had a chance to verify this submission, so we hope this will make her smile. Born to Lyndon Whitney and Madeleine McClellan Clayton on December 19, 1927, Mom just barely had the chance to celebrate her 85th birthday before slipping away from us on January 4th to rejoin her family and friends in Heaven. Her short bout with cancer taught us that laughter still is the best medicine. She kept her sense of humor until the words could not come out. Mary Lynne made friends that lasted a lifetime. She married the best one, Conrad Owen Hansen, on December 8, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. They have 5 children whom they taught to love and to laugh: Becky (Randy) Gardner, Clayton (Sheryl), Tim (Bev), Alisa (Steve) Motzkus, and Stephanie (Bryan) Tagge. Her many friends include her ward members, the Ogden study group, the DAR, and her Chi Omega sisters. Also included on that list are all those she worked with, from teaching piano and playing the organ at the Salt Lake Temple to working as an administrative secretary at the U of U and as an advisor to the students at the University of Utah Medical School. All of her friends would agree that she was the epitome of a gracious and caring woman. Best of all, her love of playing the piano filled our home and hearts with music. She is survived by her husband; 5 children; 23 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; her sister, Adele Collipriest; sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Betty) Clayton (who survives Mom s brother, L. Whitney Clayton, Jr.), and all of her wonderful extended family members. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 8, 2013, 12:00 noon at the East Millcreek 7th Ward, 3408 South Celeste Way (approx. 30th East) where friends and family may call on Monday, January 7, 2013, 5-7 p.m. and Tuesday, 10-11:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery. Hobbies:Playing piano and organ, being with family and friendsOccupation:Medical School Student Advisor
