Melanie Harrison

December 7, 1972 — February 26, 2025

t is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Melanie Sue Harrison, beloved wife, mother, and friend, who peacefully left this world at her home on February 26, 2025, after a courageous battle with kidney cancer.

Born in Murray, Utah, Melanie was the daughter of Sue Ann Curtis and Volley Neil Curtis. She grew up in Murray, where she attended local schools and graduated from Murray High School. Melanie's heart was always devoted to helping others, and her career reflected this dedication. She spent many years in the field of early childhood education, passionately shaping the lives of young children, before later transitioning to a successful career as a shipping and receiving solutions specialist.

Melanie's greatest joy, however, was her family. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Courtney Harrison, and a loving mother to her three children, Jonta (29), Samantha (25), and Kadyn (21). Her love for her family was unwavering, and she was always there for them with support, kindness, and boundless love.

Melanie cherished the moments spent traveling to Torrey, Utah, where she enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting the breathtaking Capitol Reef National Park. These trips brought her joy and gave her treasured memories that she will always be remembered for sharing with those closest to her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sue Ann Curtis, and father, Volley Neil Curtis. Their love and guidance shaped her into the remarkable woman she became, and they will forever be part of her legacy.

Melanie's warmth, selflessness, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was known for her infectious smile, her ability to bring people together, and her steadfast determination to make the world a better place. Her legacy of love and service will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

A viewing to celebrate Melanie's life will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah. We invite all who knew her to come and pay their respects as we honor her memory.

The family expresses their gratitude for the love and support they have received during this difficult time.

May she rest in peace.
