Melba H. Christensen 1924 ~ 2013 Our loving mother of four generations, Melba Hampton Christensen, passed away on May 13, 2013, surrounded by family members and loving care-givers. Melba was born March 23, 1924, to Don and Eva Hampton in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended East High School. She married her loving husband, A. Glenn Christensen, on June 24, 1944. They and their four children were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple in 1959. Melba worked for many years at Welfare Square and Bishop s Central Storehouse. Melba and Glenn enjoyed doing things together, particularly riding in the car. Melba was known for her fine hand-crocheted afghans and doilies. She made an afghan for each of her grandchildren. Melba and Glenn enjoyed vacationing together with their family and made many long road trips around the country. Melba served in various callings for the LDS Church. After Glenn s death she particularly loved serving in the Jordan River Temple. She had a deep testimony of the gospel and experienced our Heavenly Father s love and tender mercies. She is survived by her children: Donald (Necia) Christensen; JoAnn (Peter) Rawlins; Robert (Janet) Christensen; and Karen (Bill) Hall; her sister Jeannine (Don) Lauderman; 27 grandchildren; 98 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; sister, Leora Hampton; brother Don R. Hampton; son-in-law Wayne Park; and her great-grandson, Joshua Martin. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 20, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Point 7th Ward, 420 E Stokes Avenue, Draper. Visitation will be held before the funeral, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City. Occupation:Secretary
