Melton R. Stoddard 1938 ~ 2014 Melton Ray Stoddard, 76, of West Valley City, Utah died May 15, 2014. He was born in Los Angeles, CA. on March 1, 1938 to Bert and Jean Stoddard. Milt spent his early years in the Uinta Basin. He married Rhea Pickup on May 8, 1958, later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple, married 56 years. He worked in the Trucking Industry for 45 years and was proud of his 4 million mile safety record. Dad enjoyed camping, family reunions and especially boating and fishing, always dreaming of catching the Big One. He loved spending time with family and the grandkids. Survived by his wife Rhea; children: Marv (Kathleen), Julie & Hap; siblings: Larry, Shirley (Doyle), Chuck (Gloria), Anita Rand, Terry (Marianne), Sheri (Steve) and Rod; 4 grandchildren & 10 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; sister: Carolyn & granddaughter Shantae. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 19, 11:00 a.m. at Hunter 3re Ward, 3737 South 5600 West. A viewing will be held Sunday, May 18, 5:00-7:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and again Monday, 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to funeral services.
