Heaven welcomed a beautiful new angel this week. Emma Merleen Olsen Fabert, age 92, passed awayon Nov. 23, 2014 after a long battle with congestive heart failure. She left a void in our lives that will befelt forever, but we rejoice knowing that she is free from pain and the physical limitations she hasendured for the past few years. She was born Aug. 19, 1922 in Provo, Utah to Francis Marion and Emma Olsen. She married our Dad,John Fabert on June 3, 1940 and began a 53 year journey together. They raised seven children, whowere the center of Mom's life and her greatest joy. She loved her family profoundly and made sure thateach child knew he was cherished. She leaves behind three sons, three daughters and one widowed daughter-in-law: Ivan F. (Sherri) Fabert,Salt Lake City; Larry (Erlie) Fabert, St. George; John (Dana) Fabert, So. Jordan; Irene Robinson, Sandy;Carolyn (Jody) Putzier, Idaho Falls; Patti (Steve) Brown, Bountiful and June Fabert, Las Vegas. Alsomourning her passing are 24 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband John Fabert, her son Craig Fabert and her granddaughterTammie Fridell-Daugherty. Mom was a sports lover from the time she was young. She was an exceptional athlete and was evenoffered a contract to play professional softball as a teenager. In her adult years she enjoyed golf andbowling and was an avid Jazz fan, attending games regularly with her dear friend Heed Iwamoto. Mom was elated to be able to be endowed in the LDS Temple in 2010. She had been a member of theKearns 6th Ward for many years prior to moving to the South Towne Ranch Retirement Community inSandy last April. The family would like to thank Valeo Hospice and her excellent care team, especially Jeff and Martha, aswell as Marsha from Salt Lake County Aging Services for the gentle, loving care that they provided Momduring this past year. She loved all of you and was very grateful for your kindness. Mom has left this world physically, but her sweet spirit will live on in the hearts of her children,grandchildren and friends. She was a wonderful example of selfless love and we have all been blessedto have had her in our lives. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 29 at 1:00 p.m at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330So. Redwood Rd.
