Merlin LeRoy Thomas Nov 11th, 1937- Sept 4th, 2014 Our beloved husband, father, and brother has departed this mortal world and now resides among the stars with his heavenly father and a host of loved ones who are as happy to receive him as we are sad to see him go. Born in American Fork, Utah to Morris Thomas and Savina Checketts. Merlin was always the life of our party bringing joy and laughter to both family and strangers alike. He loved all and was loved by all and never failed to express his love through word, deeds, and endless kisses which he showered on us all whether we were ready or not. Merlin's greatest loves were his wife Deborah, his 11 Children, his 46 grandchildren, 13 Great grandchildren, and the LDS Church all of which he loved unconditionally and completely. Merlin lived life to its fullest never missing an opportunity to tell a joke or share his infectious laughter and smile. Survived by his wife Deborah, children Elden (Linda), Vickie (Dorain), Kim (Rochelle), Kerry (Irene), Merlin Lee (Adrienne), Jayme, David (Tara), Jerrod (Angela), Jennifer (Pete), and Jason. Siblings Earl, LaRene, Ellen. Preceded in death by Patricia (daughter), sisters Iva Dene and Elva, and brothers Willard and Lavon. Our love for Merlin will endure, till we meet again. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Hunter 5th Ward, 5065 West Janette Avenue, (3965 South). The viewing will be Tuesday 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and at the church, Wednesday 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral services.
