Merodean Petersen Anderson, 88, passed peacefully away on Tuesday, September 8, 2015. She was born in Hinckley, Utah, on March 11, 1927, to Meron McCoil and Vina Adell Peterson. Merodean grew up in Hinckley and graduated from Hinckley High. After graduation, she worked at the Topaz Internment Camp and then in Salt Lake City where she met and married Myron Elmer Anderson. Merodean was an active member of the PTA, serving on both the local and state levels for several years. She also served on the community council and was involved in many community affairs. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she held various positions. The calling she enjoyed most was serving in a Relief Society presidency. She is survived by her three sons, Glen (Sue) Anderson, Dean (Cheryl) Anderson and Mark Anderson; 7 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters and their husbands Ruth (Bill) Johnson and Myrna (Fred) Jensen. A graveside service will be held at Valley View Memorial Park Friday, September 11, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. with a memorial service to be held afterward at the Ridgedale Ward building, 3400 South 1100 East at 12:00 noon.
