Michael David Breitzman, the goofy kid who never wanted to grow up, passed away from cancer on April 26, 2015. Born February 21, 1952 in Seattle, WA to William and Agnes Breitzman. As a kid he loved to spend time in nature and run cross-country. After joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was called to serve in the Philippines Manila mission (1974-76). If he has ever cornered you, then you have heard the amazing stories from his mission that he loved to tell. He always dreamed of returning to visit. On Feb 17, 1977 he married his eternal companion of 37 years and counting, Mercedes Quevedo. Born to them were Angela, Wendy and Michael William. Time spent with his family usually involved board games, collecting stamps and stand-by tickets to somewhere for the weekend; we once got stuck in a foreign country and slept in cardboard boxes for the night. Due to his fascination with planes and traveling, he found himself in a career with United Airlines. On his lunch breaks you could often find him taking pictures of rare planes; outside of work you could find him beside the train tracks. His photo collection of planes and trains is to be admired. Preceding him in death are his mother Agnes, taken when he was just 6 years old (1958); his father Bill (2007); and his second mother Lois, who died just earlier this year. He is survived by his sisters Denise and Sarah, three children and his dear wife. Before he passed he often expressed his gratitude for the many years she stood beside him and loved him despite hard times. He loved each and every one of his 8 grandchildren, Juliet, Ezekiel, Indy, R2, Rocket, Pixie, Charlie, 88; and his nieces and nephews. He died the day before his son-in-law, Rod, was to fly to the Philippines for work; knowing the adventurer he was in this life, we know Michael just had to go with him. Peace fills our hearts. We will miss him, but we know we will see him again. A viewing will be held Sunday, May 3, 2015, 6-8:00 pm at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S Redwood Rd, Taylorsville, UT 84123.
