Michael Verne Breeze

April 28, 1951 — August 22, 2018

Michael Verne Breeze, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on August 22, 2018 surrounded by his family after a two year battle with cancer. Michael was born April 28, 1951 to E. Verne and Mable Rolfe Breeze in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from Cyprus High School before attending the University of Utah. He served in the Germany South Mission from 1970-1972. He married his high school sweetheart, Kathy Ann Burnside, on Oct 5, 1972 in the Salt Lake Temple. He owned and operated Valley Center Building as a homebuilder. He was the President of the Home Builders Association of Greater Salt Lake. Later, he worked at Beehive clothing as a supply and planning manager. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many church callings, including scoutmaster, high councilor, stake clerk and bishop. He loved scouting and obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. He loved his wife and family. He was kind, patient, giving and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. One of his favorite places was the Tetons in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He loved fishing with his dad and his sons. Cowboy music and poetry was a big part of his life and he attended the Heber Valley Cowboy Poetry Gathering for over 20 years. Michael is survived by wife Kathy; his children, Shane (Chet), Bryan (Melanie), Jeremiah (Chrissy), Missy (Brad) Tingey and Colby (Lexi); and his 12 grandchildren: Preston, Marley, Sam, Jada, Haylee, Cameron, Chloe, Jacob, Adelaide, Anna, Adam and Gideon. Also, his sisters Karen Bateman and Sheila (Jim) Ransdall; mother-in-law, Joan Burnside; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Ernest Burnside; a brother-in-law, Neldon Bateman; and nephew, Jared Bateman. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 28th from 6:00 8:00 PM at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S Redwood Rd, Taylorsville, UT.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 11:00 am at the LDS meeting house, 3737 South 5600 West, West Valley City, UT.
