Michael Anthony Winrow Sr.

Michael A. Winrow, Sr. died from cancer on December 7, 2019 at the age of 64, adding to the Winrow "Skinny Dugan" legacy--What are the odds?

He attended Granger High and spent the next 8 years in service to our country. He claimed he "circled the world twice by the age of 19". He held many different jobs in the Air Force; however, the job he was most proud of was Air-to-Air refueling. Following his tour of duty with the Air Force, he held positions as a mechanic, long-haul truck driver, and transportation broker prior to retiring.

Like most Winrow's, he had a passion for gambling and was always up for a friendly game of poker, or a Wendover weekend getaway at the craps table with his dad. In his spare time, Mike love to play his electric bass, and along with his bandmates Joe and Bernie, their band played in many local clubs on the weekends.

Some of the other things that brought him great joy included his years oval track racing, dirt bike racing, NASCAR, camping (which included overseeing the annual Winrow horseshoe tournament), and spending time with family, friends, and his beloved cocker spaniels.

He was preceded in death  by his father, Elmer Winrow; sisters Vickie Elzinga and Karla Winrow; grandparents; numerous aunts and uncles; and by his mother Dottie Winrow-- by just two hours.

Survived by his wife, Lori Winrow; siblings: Linda Winrow, Don (Jacquie) Winrow, Connie Edmond, Kathy (Jack) Petersen, Joe (Cindy) Winrow; children: Brandy (Ace) Uker, Tony (Mikelle) Winrow, Kelly (Ryan) Maxwell; grandchildren: Mercedez Winrow, Jaxton Winrow; and three great-grandchildren.

Mike had a quick wit and loved to keep us laughing. He will truly be missed. Oh and, sorry Pepsi, but your stock just went down a notch!

Funeral services will be Friday, December 13, 2019, 12:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road, where viewings will be held Thursday, Dec. 12^th, 6-8:00 p.m. and again Friday prior to services from 10:30-11:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
