Miquela Smith 1920 ~ 2013 Mi mamita, Miquela Herrera Velarde Smith, left peacefully January 9, 2013. She was born October 9, 1920 in Denver, Colorado to Teodora Jaramillo and Erineo Herrera. Raised by Carlota and Ricardo Aguilar. It was an honor to know her these last years ~ many laughs and much tenderness. Preceded in death by daughters, Carlota and Ignacita Velarde. Survived by children: Teddi, Joseph, Estefana, Roy, Georgia. Know that we loved you, especially the staff at Avalon Rehabilitation. Rest in peace, Mom. Funeral mass will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann s Catholic Church, 2100 South 500 East where a viewing will begin Friday, 10:00 a.m. followed by a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
