Moeun Dy, 57, of Salt Lake City Utah, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024. She was born on March 6, 1967, in Battambang, Cambodia, to Dee Bour and Moeut Kreuk. Moeun and her family were among the many who fled Cambodia during the tragic genocide that claimed the lives of millions. The resilience and strength she inherited from her family in the face of such hardship shaped Moeun into the compassionate and loving woman she became.
In 1987, Moeun married her loving husband, Muth Hong, and together they built a life of unwavering love and devotion. For 37 years, their bond remained strong, and they were never separated, supporting each other through life's joys and challenges. Moeun's love for her family was boundless, and she made her home a place of warmth, generosity, and kindness.
Moeun was a woman of many passions. She loved to travel and explore new places, creating lasting memories with her loved ones. One of her greatest joys was karaoke, and she especially enjoyed singing with family and friends. She had a special talent for capturing the beauty in life through photography, always eager to document her adventures and the moments that mattered most.
Moeun's fun-loving spirit shone brightly in everything she did. She had a special bond with her sister, Sabrina, who was not just her sibling but her best friend. Together, they shared countless memories, laughter, and joy. Moeun was also known for her creativity, often dressing up, lip-syncing, and making music videos in parks, bringing her playful energy to all who witnessed it.
Though Moeun was unable to have children of her own, she embraced the role of stepmother with love and dedication. She treated her stepchildren as her own, showering them with affection and care.
Moeun's legacy of love and joy will live on through the lives of those she leaves behind.
She is survived by her loving husband, Muth Hong, and her siblings: Do Dy, Sabrina Dy, Dok Dy, Det Dy, Chanda Dy, and Phillip Dy.
