Moses Hindoian

December 30, 1938 — May 23, 2024

Moses Abraham Hindoian passed away peacefully on May 23, 2024, in Salt Lake City, Utah surrounded by his wife and children. He was born to Armenian parents Abraham and Mary Hindoian in Aleppo, Syria, on December 30, 1938. Both of his parents were survivors of the Armenian genocide.

Moses had a passion for cars and worked as a mechanic for the majority of his career. He owned a Texaco Gas Station in Los Angeles for several years and later had his own Auto Repair Center in Hollywood, California. He was a hard worker who always provided for family.

Moses was always smiling and had a positive attitude even during difficult times in his life. He was a very friendly, kind, and a compassionate man who would speak to everyone. He was loved by many including family, friends, caregivers, and ward members. He would often make new friends within 5 minutes of meeting them.

He immigrated to the United States with his family in 1965. They settled in Salt Lake City to be close to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Moses was active in his church and held many callings. Besides his family, the gospel of the church was the most important thing to him, and he loved serving others. He often volunteered at the bishop's storehouse, Aging Services, and would help clean the West Stake Center in Kearns, Utah.

He married Anahis S. Ksajikian in 1968 in the Los Angeles Temple. They resided in Los Angeles for 10 years prior to moving back to Utah, and settled in Kearns, Utah for 40 years and were members of the Copper City 2nd Ward where they made many lifetime friendships. He truly loved his ward members and valued those friendships that he still has today even after his passing. Most recently they lived together at St Joseph's Villa in Salt Lake City, Utah.

At the time of his passing Moses and Anahis had been married for 56 years. He was an amazing caregiver and took care of his wife and his sister Rose for many years prior to her passing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Abraham & Mary Hindoian; Sisters Melva Emrazian, Rose Vartouhi Peterson, Manoushag Arslanian, and brother Vahan Hindoian. Survived by wife Anahis Hindoian; children Marlene Hindoian and Abraham Hindoian (Roshelle), grandchildren Gabrielle Hindoian, Xavier Brewster, and Kaden Hindoian.
