Muriel Cordery "Floss" Sanderson 1928 - 2013 Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away November 1, 2013. Muriel Cordery "Floss" Sanderson was born September 13, 1928 in Salt Lake City, UT to John and Eva Cordery. She was a graduate of East High School. Since the age of 3, Muriel carried around her nursing/doctor kit playing nurse. It was no surprise when she later graduated from University of Utah with a BS in Science and the LDS School of Nursing in 1950. She was a nurse for over 37 years. In 1951, Muriel was called to a mission in the Hawaiian Islands, where she enjoyed many memorable experiences. It was at a Hawaiian missionary reunion that she met her late husband James (Jim). They were married and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1956 and enjoyed a wonderful marriage for over 55 years. Muriel was a devoted member of the LDS Church and held numerous positions within the church, favorite of which was teaching Relief Society once a month. She expressed her love of music by playing the piano and organ. She also loved to travel with family and friends. She is survived by her four children: Kim (David) Barto NY; Bill (Beckie) TX; Mark (Stephanie) GA; David (Caroline) UT; four grandchildren: Michelle, Louis, Tyler, Olivia; two great-grandchildren: Samantha and Jacob; and her sister Joan (William) Gilbert.
