Ned Leon Walker passed away peacefully in his sleep, on December 3, 2023. He was born October 7, 1943, in Murray, Utah to Bessie and Alma Walker. Ned married Carolyn Peay on November 19th, 1971.
He loved riding his horse and exploring with his buddies. He loved to be outdoors, staying at his cabin and riding on the 4-wheelers. He loved teasing the grandkids and playing games with the family.
He enjoyed camping with friends and neighbors. He also loved shooting guns, and getting Lottery tickets in Idaho.
Dad had a shirt that said "been there done that" and he really loved vacations, hiking and going on drives. Everyone said he was "Mr. Fixit".
Dad went to Jordan High School and held many track records. He graduated in 1961. After school, he served a Mission in Canada.
Ned worked at Kennecott and retired after 30 years in the smelter.
Ned and Carolyn have 3 daughters, whom they love.
Dad sometimes was thought of as "Gruff", but those closest to him knew of his soft heart. Always helping a neighbor or giving the best bear hugs.
Ned is preceded in death by his parents and daughter Kari Trina Walker. Survived by wife, Carolyn of 52 years; daughters Colby(Tom) Knight, Neena (Jake) Riddle; 5 grandchildren Keira Riddle, Chase Riddle, Jonas Riddle, Zane Riddle, and Farris Knight.
Celebration of Life will be held Friday, December 8, 2023,from 2:00 -2:30 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and visiting will continue until 3:45 p.m.
