Norma Jean Knight Huffaker, 85, passed away January 23, 2015. She was born May 26, 1929, in Moab, Utah, the eighth of nine children to Nathaniel B. and Pearl B. Murphy Knight. She married Leland Dwight Huffaker May 25, 1945, in Port Angeles, Washington; their marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple. They had two sons, Larry Dale and Garry Lee Huffaker. Jean was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, faithfully fulfilling many callings in her wards in Moab, and in Las Vegas where her family lived for many years. These callings included serving as a Stake Missionary, Gospel Doctrine Teacher, Young Women Leader, and Relief Society Counselor. She also served for many years in the Las Vegas Temple, and more recently in the Jordan River Temple. Jean was very kind and generous, always helping those around her, and was a favorite among her many nieces and nephews, lovingly welcoming all into her home and benevolent heart. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, parents, three brothers, and four sisters. She is survived by her grandson, Haden (Stephanie) Huffaker of St. Louis, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Logan, Violet and Max, all of St. Louis; sister, Natalie (Jay) Larson of Taylorsville; and many nieces and nephews. A viewing will be at 6:00 p.m. January 29, at the Taylorsville 30th Ward Chapel, 4950 South 1950 West in Taylorsville, followed by a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Another viewing will be at 9:00 a.m. January 31, at the Moab 3rd Ward Chapel, 701 Locust Lane in Moab, followed by a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. Interment - Grand Valley Cemetery in Moab. In lieu of flowers, Jean requested donations be made to the LDS Church Missionary Fund.
