Ofelia Cardenas Rest in Peace Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wife, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family, due to complication of various illnesses. She was born September 21, 1937 in Valparaiso, Zacatecas, Mexico to Silverio Chairez and Alejandra Ramirez. Married Salvador Cardenas November 27, 1959. Even though she was extremely ill she was determined to enjoy life with her many wonderful children and grandchildren. She never denied help to anyone, her home was always open to all. She touched many lives with the gift of healing through massaging. She will be remembered by many people. The love she had for her family was the most important part of her life and was shown through everything she did for us. She is survived by her husband, Salvador; 8 children: Manuel (Patty) Cardenas, Teresa (Isaac) Aguilar, Maria Elena (Juan) Tlaxcala, Martha (Emilio) Sendejas, Marco Antonio (Libby) Cardenas, Juan Carlos (Nancy) Cardenas, Jose Alfredo (Linda) Cardenas, Blanca Estela Leon Cardenas (Manuel); 26 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 21, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 946 South 200 East, Salt Lake City, UT. Viewings will be held Friday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
