Palmer Ashe 1922 ~ 2012 Palmer Ashe, our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather, returned peacefully to his Heavenly Father and loved ones April 4, 2012. Palmer was born November 24, 1922 in Jasper, Florida to Lewis and Ola Christie Ashe, the fifth of ten children. He married Johnnie Mae Swilley January 2, 1942 in Lake City, Florida; solemnized in the St George Temple June 8, 1960. Johnnie Mae passed away August 26, 1985. He married Phyllis Chadwick Tolman June 20, 1987 in the Jordan River Temple for time. They honorably filled many callings including a mission to the West Indies and were ordinance workers in the Jordan River Temple for 12 years. He remained active in his church callings and enjoyed his home teaching until the end. He proudly served in the Navy in WWII. He loved working with his hands and was the person everyone counted on when they needed something fixed. Palmer is survived by wife, Phyllis; sons Kenneth (Nancy), Tom (Collene), Alvin (Donna); daughter Gail Bigelow (Devere); 16 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; sister Sadie Tuten; and brother Lonnie Ashe, both of Florida. Also preceded in death by son Michael Glenn; and daughter Sandra Elaine. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 9, 2012, 11:00 am at the Taylorsville Bernina Ward, 3045 W. Bernina Dr. (5855 S). Friends may call Sunday, April 8, 2012, 6-8:00 pm at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S Redwood and again Monday at the church, 10-10:45 am prior to funeral services. Interment at Lake Hills Cemetery.
