Pamela Darlene McPhie Wilson passed away peacefully surrounded by her family September 28, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. Pam was born October 25, 1948, to John Marvin McPhie and Audrey Lillian "Lil" Carlson McPhie (later Butcher) in Kennilworth, Utah. She was the first daughter after four sons and everyone, especially her mother, who enjoyed the pink and ruffles that came along with her. Pam was a very loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. She was a wonderful Grammy who loved her grandchildren so very much and got much pleasure from spending time with them and making things for them. Her grandchildren fondly remember sleep overs, tea parties, road trips, playing games and learning to do various crafts with her. Her cookie jar was always full of her special Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies, which everyone loved. Pam put her heart and soul into making beautiful quilts and afghans which she loved giving to family and friends as wedding and baby gifts. She developed her love of creating and making gifts from her mother. The two of them shared a very special mother/daughter bond and were truly best friends. She and her husband Bruce enjoyed traveling, especially cruises and visiting places such as The Panama Canal, The South Pole, South America, Iceland, Greenland, Russia and Scandinavia. Her love of travel developed over many years of accompanying him on long road trips crisscrossing America. The family would like to thank Mona and Kathy, her live-in care providers, and the caring staff of Quality Hospice, especially Dana and Charlotte, for the love and care they provided her and us during her battle with cancer. Pam is survived by her children, Keri (Guy) Johnson, Don (Trish) Austin, Kristi (Bob) Thrasher, David (Henny) Austin, and Daniel Austin; her grandchildren, Heather (Jared) Dunn, Michelle (Michael) Lancaster, and Ryan Thrasher; great-grandchildren Wyatt Dunn and Katie Lancaster; her brothers Ted McPhie, Dean (Dixie) McPhie, Dick (Ivoni) McPhie, Terry McPhie; sister Candy (Ted) Carter, sister-in-law Colleen (David) Witt; brother-in-law Lynn (Debbie) Wilson; many nieces and nephews; along with very special friends Chad, Tanya, Aiden, Teegan and Quinn Martin. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Bruce; her parents, John McPhie and Lillian Butcher; her sister-in-law Twyla; and her Little Buckaroo, grandson Donald Todd Austin.
