Patrice McIntosh Thorup Patrice McIntosh Thorup, age 40, our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, passed away on December 4, 2011 at home. Patrice was a person with a giving heart. She was always concerned about others and would do anything for her family and friends. Patrice struggled with health problems most of her life, but she became stronger because of it. Even amidst her own struggles, she was a nurturer of the sick. She took great care of her parents as their health began to diminish. Patrice was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was close to the Spirit. She loved serving in the Church and served in many different capacities, including the Relief Society, Young Women, Primary and as a Visiting Teaching Supervisor. Patrice was born January 29, 1971 in Salt Lake City to Maynard Bevan and Carla Marshall McIntosh. From her youth, she gained a great love of the outdoors, fishing and shooting. Patrice loved accounting and had a great talent to organize. She also had a love for shopping, reading, arts and crafts, and scrapbooking. Patrice married Paul Marx Thorup on August 26, 1989, in the Salt Lake Temple. She loved being a mother and was excited to soon be a grandmother. Patrice had four precious dogs which she loved. Patrice also enjoyed volleyball, something that she shared with Paul. Patrice is survived by her husband, her children: Ashlee (Brodie) Byington, Kyle Thorup and Janessa Thorup; her parents; her siblings: Pam (Calvin) Casper, Scott (Vicky) McIntosh and Mark (Penny) McIntosh; her dogs, Sadie, Lily, Bella and Mandy. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at the Jordan Oaks 1st Ward, 8035 South Leslie Drive (3905 West). Viewings will be Friday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the Church from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
