Patrick Charles Vialpando
On Tuesday, January 3rd Patrick Vialpando, The Myth, The Man, The Legend passed away at the young age of 85. Born to Charles and Phoebe Vialpando on August 28th, 1937 in Grand Junction Colorado.
In January 1955 at the age of 17 he joined the U.S. Navy at the tail end of the Korean war. After the Navy he gained employment at Hill Air Force Base in the sheet metal division. He eventually became a manager in the Logistics Missile Division.
On March 17th, 1960 he married his childhood sweetheart and friend Cecelia Sanchez. In 1967 he had to leave his young family to support the Vietnam war working on the F4 Phantom for a year in the Philippines. He was a very unselfish man who gave of himself to family, friends and strangers. If he couldn't fix it, then it wasn't broken. He refused to believe in cant's, he would always find a way, hence the family knew him as superman.
He always enjoyed time with his family and friends, fishing, hunting and riding motorcycles. His greatest passion was working in the garage where he could show his knowledge and help others. He will be missed but not forgotten.
He is preceded in death by Cecelia(wife), Charles(father), Phoebe(mother), Gilbert(brother) and many more. He left behind his children, Deborah Dansie(Rick), Mike Vialpando (Cheryl), Roxanne Thomas (Jay); nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, 14th of January, 11:30 a.m. at St. Martin De Porres Catholic church, 4914 South 2200 West, Taylorsville Utah.
Viewing will be Friday January 13th, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m at McDougal funeral home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.
Interment, Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 275 U Street Salt Lake City, Utah.
