Our loving husband, father, and grandfather, Phillip Alonzo Cook, passed away July 6, 2016. He was born Nov. 13, 1946, in Huntington, Utah, to Omer and Eva Cook. He met the love of his life, Susan Mary Mabey, while attending BYU. They were married March 19, 1971, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Phillip was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Having spent his life in the service of others, he especially enjoyed serving a full-time mission in Ireland, and later along side his wife in the Cub and Boy Scouting programs, and eight-and-a-half years at the Legacy Assisted Living center in Taylorsville. He graduated with a degree in Physics from BYU and Industrial Engineering from the University of Utah. He went on to work at Boeing for 28 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Susan; children, Rebecca (Rich) Teece, Renae (Norman) Kay, David Cook, and Kevin (Krissie) Cook; nine grandchildren; and six siblings. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 11, at the Westbrook LDS 3rd Ward, 6500 South Dixie Drive (3655 West). Viewings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, in Taylorsville, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Monday prior to services at the church.
