Our beloved Phillip Clair Williams (Phil), 62, of Taylorsville, Utah, passed away Friday, December 23, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer. Born November 22, 1955 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Clair Williams and Lorraine Curtis, he was raised in Magna, Utah and attended Cyprus High School. Phil was an accomplished businessman, helping build a successful HVAC business and later worked as a salesman for Carrier. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time in the mountains. Two of his favorite fishing spots were, Gooseberry Reservoir and the Provo River; he was truly a beautiful fly fisherman. Phil possessed a wealth of knowledge and was a great mentor to anyone who needed advice over the years. He loved spending time in Mexico with his wife and mother and could be found all over the Salt Lake Valley searching for good deals. He loved sweets, curse words, sci-fi movies and old western TV shows. Phil was extremely loving and proud of his entire family. He is survived by his wife and best friend Michelle; father Clair (Betty) Williams; and mother Lorraine Sutherland. He is also survived by his eight children, Ryan (Franchesca) Williams, Kristin Frazier, Chad (Sharee) Dalton, Rex (Leticia) Dalton, Patia Tolbert (Kyle Rose), Bryce (Hillary) Tolbert, Tyler (Heather) Tolbert, Chad (Brooklynn) Tolbert; sister Diane (Dave) Mecham; brother Jason (Cindy) Smith; sixteen grandchildren; as well as his many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his dad Kent Smith. A small celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 6th at his home from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Please bring memories and stories to share.
