Quentin Cannon Pete Winder 1924 ~ 2013 Quentin Cannon Pete Winder passed away peacefully July 22, 2013. He was born February 25, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Rex and Anne Young Cannon Winder. He graduated from Granite High School, attended the University of Utah, graduating from Utah State University. He was affiliated with Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Pete married Marilyn Kasteler September 7, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was an active member of the LDS Church serving two stake missions, in the Young Mens, Sunday School and bishopric. He sang with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for 21 years. He was active in community and civic organizations and served as a West Valley City councilman. He is a former partner/owner of Winder Dairy and Valley View Memorial Park. Pete loved to travel with his family. He and Marilyn visited many countries around the world. He is survived by his sweetheart; children and their spouses: Carolyn (Larry) Bunkall, John (Arliss Handy), Judy (Robin) Reese, Jerry (Stacie McDermott) and Peter (Carie McDermott); 25 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; brothers John Rex, Charles and Phillip; sisters Anne Aldous and Helen Vrontikis. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 27, 2013, 12:00 noon at the Valley Park 6th Ward, 5233 South 3200 West. Visitation with the family will be Friday, July 26, 2013, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
