R. Neil Tischner

August 9, 1929 — August 8, 2014

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father who died on the eve of his 85th birthday. Though he fought with fierce tenacity to stay in this life he so loved, he left peacefully in his sleep August 8, 2014 surrounded by many loved ones. Dad was born August 9, 1929 in Garfield, Utah to Wayne and Eva Beckstead Tischner. He married Betty McCall in 1949 and together they had six children; later divorced. In 1964 he met and married his true love and soulmate, DeLois (Dee) Wilson and together they raised four children. They shared a wonderful 25 years together, spending endless hours with their friends and family at their property in Fruitland, dancing, bowling, fishing, traveling, golfing and socializing. She died of cancer in 1989. In 1991 he married Marjorie; later divorced. Dad was a Korean War veteran. He was a fantastic bowler, voracious reader and an accomplished oil painter with work displayed in the City Hall. His second biggest love was his tomatoes which he planted every year by seed. Dad is survived by 9 children: Rhonda (Jess), Rinnette, Rashell (Gil), Rory (Pam), Roylance (Steve), Don (Kathryn), Barbara, Dorene, Shelli Ann (Randy); many grandchildren; his incredibly loving siblings: Duane (Lorraine), Jay (Wilda), and Ila Rae (Roy). He is preceded in death by son, Ronnie; his beloved Dee; and parents. The family would like to thank the Veterans Hospital, Holladay Health Care and CNS Hospice for their loving, compassionate care of dad. Online condolences at www.mcdougalfuneralhomes.com.
