Raymond Erick Erickson

Raymond Erick Erickson age 48, died December 23, 2017 quietly at home surrounded by loved ones after a long and difficult 22 month battle with cancer. He was born on July 26, 1969 in Murray, Utah to Colleen (Wilde) and Terry Brent Erickson. He is survived by his mother and father; Gary Wilde (stepfather); Rita Erickson (stepmother); siblings: Joey (Crandall), R-Jay (Wilde), Melissa (Prietauer) and Josh (Wilde); stepchildren: Adam (Garcia), Zach (Garcia) and Arianna (Chwastek); stepgrandchildren: Mina, Valentina and Chance. He is predeceased by his name-sake grandfather Raymond Erick Erickson; grandmother Shirley Erickson; and grandfather Elmer Earl Sadler. Ray most loved his job at Intermountain Health Care. He was a compliance rep who helped people new to CPAP Therapy and mentored them for their first 90 days. He felt fulfilled as he helped them to finally get a good night's sleep and changed their quality of life. He was kind and generous to all he met. He was laid-back, easy going, quick to forgive and loyal to all who were close to him. He was an avid gamer video games and RPG, loved sci-fi movies and TV shows and super heroes. His last heroic act was to participate in a clinical trial at Huntsman Cancer Center. The family will never see the words clinical trial again without thinking of our own super hero. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 28, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Taylorsville South Stake Center, 3495 W. 4850 S. Viewings will be held Wednesday, Dec. 27th, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and again Thursday at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 E. 4580 S. Flowers can be sent to McDougal Funeral Home. A light luncheon will follow the graveside services at the Stake Center; all are welcome to attend.
