Raymond Arvid Wiker, 79, of West Jordan, Utah, passed away October 22, 2023, from complications of diabetes. Born August 27, 1944, in Denver, Colorado, he was the son of George and Elaine Wiker. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served diligently in many priesthood callings including a mission to Bavaria, Germany.
He graduated from Granger High School and attended the University of Utah. He worked as an orderly at the University Hospital where he met his wife, Kathy. He later worked at Alpine Cabinet Doors company which he enjoyed. He retired in 2005 and served an Inner-City Service Mission with his wife where he worked with the primary children reading them stories and teaching them the Gospel.
He loved gardening and raised beautiful lilies and roses as well as enough vegetables to share. He was generous with his time and enjoyed giving wheelbarrow and wagon rides to his nieces and neighbor children. His hobbies were his two cats (Charlie and Cooper), gardening, wood working, music, and photography. He excelled at photographing sunrises, sunsets, and flowers.
He is survived by his beloved wife Kathleen McOmie Wiker, 3 children Justin (Tamra), Stacy, and Diane Colby (Aaron), 6 grandchildren, brothers Rodger Wiker (Nancy), Kay Wiker, sister Jeanne Wiker Fotheringham, aunt June McNealy, and numerous nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by brother Marty Wiker, sister-in-law Barbara Wiker, and brother-in-law Roger McOmie.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the River 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, 1380 West 6785 South, West Jordan, with a viewing prior to the services (9:30-10:45 am). Burial in Lehi City Cemetery.
