Rayola Joyce VanValkenburg Neff

Joyce Neff, age 83, passed away peacefully in Murray, Utah on June 2, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was born October 28, 1931 in Union, Utah. The love of her life was her husband, Clairmont Neff. As a young man he followed her to Astoria, Oregon where they were married May 17, 1948. They were a committed couple that loved each other dearly. They returned to Utah and raised seven children. Joyce was a hard working woman throughout her life. She worked as a cook at various nursing homes and care centers throughout the Salt Lake Valley. Vacations back to Astoria and the surrounding area were always enjoyed by Grandma Neff. Survived by her children: Rayola, Stanley, Clair Jr., Steven and Randy; 22 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. Preceded in death by her husband; children Vickie, and Robert "Marty". Funeral services will be held Monday, June 8, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where friends may call, 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial where she will be laid to rest with her sweetheart.
