Rea Jean Brown was born March 15, 1934 in Provo, Utah and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 25, 2016 at the age of 81 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the daughter of Ray Dean Brown and Violet Altha Shoell Brown. Rea Jean attended Provo City Schools graduating from Provo High School in 1952. She moved to Salt Lake City in 1953 and attended Business School. Rea Jean started working for the telephone company when it was Mountain Bell as a long distant operator, retiring from Quest. While working at Quest she received awards for her work and attendance. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is survived by sisters and brothers, June B. Swidrack, John (deceased) North Highland, California, Ralph R. Brown (Marilyn) Salt Lake City, Utah, Fay Ann Brown Harding (Gayden) Provo, Utah, Mary Ann Brown Bee (Jan), Provo, Utah, Larry P. Brown (Eleanor) Taylorsville, Utah; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her son Terry; parents; 4 sisters; and 2 brothers. The family would like to thank the employees at Canyon Rim Care Center and Melanie, Rea Jean's nurse with Bristol Hospice for the kinds and gentle care she received. A viewing will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 12-12:45 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, followed by a grave side service at 1:00 p.m. at Taylorsville City Cemetery, 4500 South Redwood Road.
