Renee Lamb Quigley Goodfellow returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father and loved ones on October 24, 2023, after a brief illness. She was born June 3, 1936, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Alta Wright and Delbert Molen Lamb. Renee grew up in Bountiful where she attended Stoker Elementary, South Davis Jr. High, Bountiful and Davis High Schools. She attended the University of Utah where she perfected her accounting and bookkeeping skills. She met her future husband, Gordon Myrl Quigley at the LDS Institute of Religion early in 1955. After a 2 ½ year courtship, they were married June 27, 1957, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Renee had a gift for organization and accounting. She did the books for a variety of companies while raising her children, and eventually worked as a secretary for Quail Hollow Elementary School. With her knack for organizing and her trusty label maker, Renee could whip any mess of papers, pictures, ledgers, and boxes into a photo-worthy masterpiece. She used this gift in keeping her life history, journals, photos, and home beautifully organized with everything in its proper place.
Renee loved camping and traveling with her family. They had many adventures with their three children, backpacking, hiking, and exploring many of the states. Her children grew up with a love of nature and the beautiful world we live in. She became a pro at packing her 95-pound son's backpack through trial and error after sending canned food, complete with can opener, in a bag totaling 50 pounds for a 50-mile hike to the top of Kings Peak. Renee loved accompanying her husband, Gordon, on several Tabernacle Choir trips all over the world during the 22 years he was in the choir. Renee served faithfully in a variety of church positions that included Primary, Young Women, Relief Society, and the ward choir. She loved playing the piano and found it to be a great stress reliever.
Renee loved her family and enjoyed taking each of the grandchildren to lunch on their birthdays. She enjoyed family activities and getting to know each of the grandchildren on a personal level. She has kept a record of every award, accomplishment, and certificate any member of her family has received.
Her husband, Gordon, passed away while they were faithfully serving as missionaries on a CES assignment in Leeds England in November of 1999. In November 2000, she married Don Harris Goodfellow. They have enjoyed a wonderful life together for 23 years. They served together in the Philippines Baguio Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her marriage to Don has been a tremendous blessing to her and her family. Don happily filled the position of stepfather, and grandfather to his many new grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who love him.
Renee leaves behind a loving posterity, James (Alicia) Quigley, Paul (Debbie) Quigley, and Cheryl (Dwayne) Vance. She has 32 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; grandchildren, Claire, Hannah, Grace, Ry and Tren Quigley; her parents Delbert and Alta Lamb; siblings, Ronald, and Marilyn Lamb. She is survived by her siblings, LaRue Hamby, Carolyn Newman, Connie and Richard Lamb and her loving husband, Don Goodfellow.
